I got this out of curiosity, and because I love trying out new ways to exercise. It is a soft, rope-like loop designed to function as a hula hoop, but foldable for easy storage. That's what drew me in, along with the added weight and the promise of a more effective workout compared to a traditional hoop.
The concept is actually interesting. It is lightweight enough to store easily, and the flexibility makes it much more portable than a rigid hoop.
I can see this being a fun option for someone who is coordinated and already knows how to hula hoop. Unfortunately… I discovered that I am not that person. I tried. My best. I swear (well… maybe not…). To be fair, I was able to keep it up a bit after watching a lot of instructional YouTube videos. What surprised me is that it was less harsh on my midsection than I feared due to the weight; I had no sensitivity or bruising afterwards, something that I was afraid about. I cannot speak about prolonged use though, as I proved utterly incapable of any.
Jokes aside, the hoop itself seems reasonably well made, and the added weight does make it feel like it could provide a decent workout if you can keep it going.
Overall, this feels like a niche but potentially fun fitness tool. Just be aware that your experience will depend heavily on your existing hula hoop skills, or your determination to acquire some. Unfortunately mine were insufficient – but I did have some really good laughs trying.

It's immediately apparent that this isn't a tool you just pick up and master instantly; it definitely requires a degree of practice and an already developing core strength to truly get the hang of it. My initial attempts were a bit clumsy, highlighting a definite learning curve involved. It wasn't until I watched the accompanying video and understood the proper starting technique – holding both sides with one hand and sending it off to the side – that things began to click. Thankfully, the hoop itself feels substantial and well-constructed. It possesses a good, springy quality when in motion, and the weight feels evenly distributed, contributing to its sturdy feel.

The hoop arrived ready to use, a welcome convenience with no assembly required. The size feels appropriate for adult use, and the weight provides a solid form of resistance during the exercise.
